Guess who is guesting?

Life in Alyaville is a CRAZY WHIRLWIND OF CHAOS right now.  It certainly looks like a tornado struck our apartment at least.  So I will try to crank out some posts I have lined up for you in the days (*ahem* weeks?) to come.  But for now I just wanted to share some really amazing news in the world o’ Coriander Dreams. I was invited by the very kind C.J. at the super blog Food Stories to write a guest post for them. In fact, the recent Crispy Tofu recipe was what caught her eye, so if you haven’t read it here, by all means head on to Coriander Dreams’  guest feature at Food Stories and take a gander at the revamped story and enticing recipe.  Plus, you can see exactly what Food Stories is all about, and even discover what national food holiday falls on your birthday! (memo to self: look up my birthday)

If you missed that, you may click HERE as well. :)

Limitless limitless thanks to CJ and the Food Stories venue for this exciting opportunity to share my own rambling tales with her readers. It’s just the kind of pick-me-up I needed amidst all the stress the next few weeks have promised to guarantee me.  At least I sold a coffee table today. Anyone want a really supreme sofa, guaranteed to make you sleep in 4 minutes?  Anyone? I’ll throw in a cookie?

What? I’ve been nominated?

My jaw officially dropped to the ground today when I saw the most recent comment on my blog today, from CJ of Food Stories.  She very kindly nominated me for the new Food Stories Award for Excellent Storytelling! Those who know me surely aren’t surprised that I sat in shock for a good long while before realizing that yes, I have been noticed and recognized by a fellow blogger, a peer.  What could be better? So thank you, CJ, thanks so much.

Straight from Food Stories, the rules are as follows (Copied directly):

1. The nominee should visit the award site (http://foodstoriesblog.com/food-stories-award/) and leave a comment indicating that they have been nominated and by whom. (This step is so important because it’s the only way our judges will know who is being considered for the monthly presentation).
2. The Nominee should thank the person that nominated them by posting & including a link to their blog.
3. Share one random thing about yourself in your blog post.
4. Select at least five other bloggers that you enjoy reading their stories and nominate them for the award.
5. Notify your  nominees by leaving a comment on their blog, including a link to the award site (http://foodstoriesblog.com/food-stories-award/).

Food Stories will put together a team of judges to review all nominees and to select a Food Stories Award Winner for each month. More information to come on what fabulous opportunities await for those lucky winners!

Would you like to know something random about me?: Cherries and grapes make me uncomfortable. Although I love the flavors of both, the experience of eating them can induce great anxiety.

Would you like to know what Food bloggers I nominate?:

Thanks again for the nomination, CJ!

Minor Hiatus

Unfortunately I haven’t had time to write up a backlog of many entries, so my posts are running on empty. I’ll definitely get to that this week, but new cooking excursions may be put on hiatus because yours truly did some minor damage to my right hand last night and am now sporting a bunch of stitches. I’ll have a better update soon (just typing away on the phone right now) and will keep you posted on any developments.

Thanks and stay smart in the kitchen folks!

Computer Hold Up

Aside

Minor Computer hold-up:  G has been updating and rectifying my computer so that it runs uber super quickly, enough to make Usain Bolt cry in his sleep, but in the process a few of my drivers have been left to the wayside for the moment.  Point is, my SD card reader is refusing to, well, read (what a travesty for a word-monger like myself!) and I can’t download any photos at the moment.  This pains me because I have 3, count-em-three!, recipes on the brink of revelation and more in development, but all in good time I suppose.

Just keeping my fuzzy little readership informed.  Things should be in top shape in a day or two.  If not, I’ll just keep eating anyway.  We needn’t worry about that.

Visiting the family

Just an fyi that I will be updating this soon, but I am currently visiting the family in warmer California, and don’t have access to many of the photos I had downloaded onto my computer.  As such, the next post may be lacking in the visual department, but have no fear mighty readers! I will update them asap once I can get my grubby fingers on them…

And we’ll see, perhaps the family will put me to work in the kitchen as well, and I’ll have some culinary mishap to share here. :)   Wish the husband were here too, but it’s just a few days so we can manage.  Anyhoo, until very soon!
